CAT case on Sr Postmaster cadre - An update

Sr. Postmaster CAT Case under OA. No. 1328/HP/2011 filed by the All India Association of Inspectors and Assistant Superintendents Posts Haryana and Punjab Circle Branch jointly came up for hearing on 27.01.2014 before Hon'ble CAT Bench Chandigarh. On a pleading raised by Ld Counsel on behalf of Association that unless and untill Recruitment Rules of PS Group ''B'' 1987 are amended, Sr. Postmaster Recruitment Rules - 2010 cannot be made applicable. Hon'ble Bench directed to submit progress made in revision of PS Group B cadre Recruitment Rules by the Department on the next date of hearing 18.02.2014.

Issues relating to cadre pending at Directorate - An update

The latest position of the various pending issues as informed by G.S, IP/ASP association is as follows.

1.   Issue of combined seniority list of Inspector Posts from 1998 to 2000 

Today, seniority list is compiled by SPG Division of Directorate and is likely to be released very soon.  

2.   Holding of DPC for promotion to the cadre of JTS Gr. A for the vacancy of 2012-13.

All the queries raised by UPSC were replied by Directorate and suitable date for convening DPC is awaited from UPSC.  

3.   Declination of PS Gr. B promotion and repatriation to parent circle.

Secretary (Posts) has accepted the declination of PS Gr. B promotion of 17 IP Line officers. List is being circulated soon and thereafter supplementary DPC and repatriation cases will be decided on merit.  

4.   Issue of combined seniority list of PS Gr. B cadre  

Representations received from officers have got clearance from DoPT and now DOP will prepare a fresh seniority list at the earliest.

Subject: Jurisdiction of Postal Dispensaries located at Guntur, Rajamundry, Net lore, Vijaywada, Vishakhapatnam, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Chhapra, Darbhanga, Gaya, Muzaffarpur, Raipur, Vadodara, Ambala, Dhanbad, Behrampur, Cuttack, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ajmer, jodhpur, kota, Tirchirappalli, Tirunelveli, Agra, Aligarh, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Varanasi, Jalpaigiri and Siliguri with regard to FMA for pensioners. 

In pursuance to that Deptt. of Post order No.2-2/2012-Medical dated 16.8.2013, I am directed to convey the instructions with regard to P&T dispensaries located at above mentioned places and FMA to pensioners are as below:-

1. The reduction in jurisdiction of the above mentioned postal dispensaries for the purpose of Fixed Medical Allowance to pensioners from 8 km. to 2.5 km at par with the Railways.

2. These order shall supercede all earlier orders on the subject and shall come into force w.e.f 01.09.2013.

3. All pensioners residing beyond 2.5 km. radius of the above cited dispensaries and desirous of availing Fixed Medical Allowance shall give an undertaking to this effect and surrender their Postal Dispensary cards to the Incharge of their respective dispensaries, who shall endorse the same on the said undertaking for submission to the Pension Paying Authority.

4. The Pension Paying Authority shall make necessary entries on the PPO of the Pensioner concerned and disburse FMA along with the pension as per prevailing rates (at present it is Rs.300/- per month).

Direct Recruitment of Postman from Open market - Stay orders issued by Hon'ble CAT Bangalore

Hon'ble Central Administrative Tribunal, Bangalore Bench has kept the orders on direct recruitment to the cadre of Postman from open market in suspended animation vide its order dated 24.01.2014 in OA nos 104/2013 to 113/2014 and directed the department to complete the reconsideration within two months.

Declaration of result of LDCE of Postman Grade I and Inspector Posts 2013 - Update

It was informed by G.S IP/ASP association that  results of LDCE for promotion to the cadre of PM Grade-I held on 30.06.2013 and LDCE for the promotion to cadre of Inspector Posts held on 14th and 15th September 2013 are expected very soon.

EPFO approves raising Provident Fund interest rate to 8.75%

Retirement fund body EPFO on Monday decided to increase the rate of interest on Provident Fund deposits to 8.75% for 2013-14, a move that will benefit about 5 crore subscribers.

"We have decided to recommend to the government 8.75% rate of interest for 2013-14 to its subscribers," labour minister Oscar Fernandes told reporters after a meeting of the EPFO trustees.

Launching of AP Online New Benefit Disbursement Portal

AP Online launched its new Benefit Disbursement Portal to monitor the Social Security Pensions and NREGS Wage Payments through Post Offices.  In the Work Shop held at Conference Hall of Circle .Office, Hyderabad on 09-01-2014 PMG, (BD), PMsG and DPSs of Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam,Kurnool and Hyderabad Region are present on the occassion.
