Result of LDCE for promotion to the cadre of Inspector Posts and LGO Examination for the year 2014 - Update
The declaration of above examinations results are said to be delayed due to receipt of enormous number of representations / queries/objections from aspirant candidates on various issues related to question papers / answer keys etc. at Directorate. It is learnt that Directorate is thoroughly going through each and everybody's representation / query / objection to remove it and further to avoid litigation etc in near future and therefore more time for declaration of results is required.

6% DA Hike to Central Govt Employees from Jan 2015 - Announcement likely in next week
As per sources, 6% enhancement in D.A. payable to Central Govt. employees and pensioners is likely to be declared in the coming week. A note in this regard is likely to be forwarded in the next cabinet meeting for approval. With this hike, central D.A. will be 113% with effect from 1st january 2015. As per practice, arrears from January to March 2015 will be paid in cash in the month of April.
No proposals to increase working days to 6 per week: Govt
The government on Friday said it has no proposals to shift to six-day week working for its offices or reduce the retirement age of employees to 58 years.
"At present, there is no proposal to change working days for the Central government offices from five to six days a week or to reduce the retirement age of the Central government employees to 58 years," Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha.
At present, the retirement age of the Central government employees is 60 years.
The Minister also said that the Seventh Central Pay Commission appointed in February 2014 is required to make its recommendations within 18 months from the date of its constitution.

No proposal under consideration of the Government to curtail the public holidays for government employees
As per the existing policy, the Central Government Administrative Offices observe up to 17 holidays in a year on specified occasions which consist of 3 National Holidays (on 26th January, 15th August and 2nd October) and 14 other holidays to celebrate festivals of different regions/religion in a diverse country like India.
At present there is no proposal under consideration of the Government to curtail the public holidays for government employees.
This was stated by the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and Minister of State in Prime Minister’s office Dr. Jitendra Singh in a written reply to a question by Shri S. Thangavelu in the Rajya Sabha today.

Subject: Clarification regarding list of hospitals/laboratories for conducting special medical examinations consequent on enhancement of sum assured limit in r/o PLI
This has reference to para 4 & 14 of this Directorate letter of even number dated 12.01.2015 regarding ‘Enhancement of sum assured to 50 lakhs in r/o PLI.
2. The Circles are raising doubts regarding process of conducting special medical examination of proponent opting for higher sum assured policies i.e. more than Rs. 20 lacs and authorised medical doctors, hospitals and dispensaries for special medical examination of these proponents. In this regard, it is clarified that special medical examinations may be conducted at any hospital/laboratory approved by CGHS, Central/State Government or at any specialized hospital at CGHS rate.
3. Status of Medical Officer conducting medical examination of proposer(s) based on special medical reports should be as under:-
i) Civil Surgeon, Medical Officers in the employment of Government enjoying the status not lower than that of a Civil Surgeon or Chief Medical Officer, nearest to the place of duty of the proponent. CMO Grade I/Specialist Grade II shall also be considered as equivalent to the rank of Civil Surgeon.
ii) Medical Officer (Allopathic) equivalent to Civil Surgeon employed in Central and State Government, Public Sector undertaking both State and Centre with at least 10 years experience, nearest to the place of duty of the proponent.
iii) Retired Civil Surgeon, CMO Grade I and Specialist Grade II.
4. Revised LI-24 (Proposal Form) for PLI proposals exceeding sum assured limit of Rs. 20 lac is being revised and will follow.
5. This has approval of CGM (PLI).

(b) Examination/Review of existing point based system of assessing indigence for compassionate engagement
The Committee has been allowed a time of one month to submit its recommendation.

Postal Network Spread Across the Country to be Used for Increasing Access to Formal Financial System
The Finance Minister, Shri Arun Jaitely presenting the Union Budget 2015-16, here today, said that the government is committed to increasing access of the people to the formal financial system. In this context, Government proposes to utilize the vast Postal network with nearly 1,54,000 points of presence spread across the villages of the country . The Minister hoped that the Postal Department will make its proposed Payments Bank venture successful so that it contributes further to the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana.
Shri Jaitley said that to bring parity in regulation of Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) with other financial institutions in matters relating to recovery, it is proposed that NBFCs registered with RBI and having asset size of Rs. 500 crore and above will b considered for notifications as ‘Financial Institution’ In terms of the SARFAESI Act, 2002.
