Resignation can be withdrawn even after its acceptance and discharge from service - Amendement of rules

Department of Personnel & Training vide gazette notification dated 28-07-2011 has made amendment to  rule 5 of All India Services(Death cum Retirement Benefits) rules,1958 which allows the Government to permit a member of  central govt services to withdraw his resignation in the public interest even after its acceptance and discharge from service subject to certain conditions like "that the period of absence from duty between the date on which the  resignation became effective and the date on which the member allowed to resume duty as a result of permission to withdraw the resignation is not more than ninety days".
